Patrick Kennison and Nikki Stringfield Hit the Road

Patrick Kennison and Nikki Stringfield hit the road to to start the year in support of Marty Friedman. Shows start in Vegas on Jan 25th and they will be rolling through Dallas Feb 18th at the historic Granada Theater.

Damn straight I have my ticket already!

Kennison has been a Renegade favorite since we first heard When Daylight Dies from their 2010 self-titled release Heaven Below. Check it out on Spotify. Now, When Daylight Dies is a tough act to follow. I played war games online back in the day and the lyrics were on our wall of battle. To say I got into the music is a bit of an understatement.

Over the years I’d discover more on the Texas history of Kennison and any time he’s come through Dallas with Lita Ford, he’s been more than gracious than to hook me up with a photo pass. One thing I’ve always counted on was a great rock and roll show. Needless to say, I’m particularly pumped up for this one.

Just over 2 years ago, Kennison married his longtime girlfriend, Nikki Stringfield. (Nov 2022). Stringfield herself is the incredible power guitarist currently touring with the Iron Maidens as well as joining Kennison in Heaven Below.

In 2020, Heaven Below and Iron Maidens did come together to put out an incredible metal riff by the name of Powerslave. Paying homage to traditional metal tones and “power” vocals, it’s certainly all the good things you’d expect from this group of talent.

2022 rolls around and Til Death Do Us Part is a 3-song release that gives you a hint of things to come from this rock and roll power couple.

Now, with such a metal background, Til Death Do Us Part is something you wouldn’t expect. All 3 songs are on the “mellow” side ending with the timeless classic “Can’t Help Falling in Love” where Stringfield shows off her own vocals nicely.

Hallelujah, nicely done. Very nicely done.

With a new release on the horizon, we do have (3) songs on Spotify so far to tease us in the direction headed. Recently currently songs Nightmare Rising and Suffer the Masses was joined by the latest effort off the upcoming release, Almost Human.

What these 3 songs show is a dose of classic Heaven Below with a touch of Stringfield added in for good measure. The vocals from Kennison are on the harder side of haunting while Stringfield brings the softer side of the same emotional haunting tones.

Together, I’m certainly looking forward to the entire release and have it down as one of the more anticipated efforts I’ll get a chance to review in 2025.

First, Granada in Feb to see Heaven Below – am I gonna see you there? VIP packages available for both bands and this promises to be a high energy guitar madness kind of night you won’t want to miss! BUT IF YOU DO – I’ll have the review up shortly after the show.  🙂

Dates and ticket / VIP links on the Friedman site.

After that, we do need to sit down and catch up with Kennison and Stringfield since they are now back in Texas. Over 8 years ago, we did talk with Kennison and its certainly time to catch up!

Now, one of the best and most visual lyric videos I’ve seen in a long time – Demons!
