With the Dallas International Guitar Festival weeks away, (May 2-4) it’s time to get that agenda together! Who will you have time to see? Who will you find you’ve never seen before? And who will just blow you away in every way possible with the most amazing guitars you ‘ve ever heard?
Well, *that day* anyway.
If this year goes as years past, every artist will amaze you, every day. There’s simply that much talent packed into 3 days, and those days will pass so quickly!
Right off the bat, I noticed The Band Feel as we’re focusing more on the straight-ahead blues rock and these guys certainly fit the bill. Will be a first time to see their energy live and you’re damn straight I will have my camera in hand!
Let see, Dallas based – Andy Timmons – hell yea. Always a phenomenal show. Name after name, I see talent at every step. And then, I come across Dallas guitarist, Darren Wise who will be shredding it with his band Empiires. This one is a definite DO NOT MISS!
Wise says this is the 3rd or 4th time he and Empiires have been asked to play the festival.
“We should have 30–45-minute sets” Wise indicated. “That will depend on how tight the schedule is with all the artists. We recently reviewed a live Empiires performance, and you can read about it here.
Friday we will also get to see some of the up-and-coming guitar players as Rockstars of Tomorrow also has some time Friday and Sunday, so make sure you find these guys and give them some love.
I can promise you – you will be surprised at what these students can do!
Friday at noon things will kick off. You’ll need to pay attention to schedules, keep your head on a swivel from all the activity around you, and put some track shoes on. You’re going to want to be running fast to see as much as you can in the 3 days you have!
