ARLINGTON, Texas – The Dallas Wings (16-14) finished out their four-game homestand with a, 91-81, win over the Connecticut Sun (21-9) at College Park Center on Saturday night.
With the win tonight, the Wings became the only team in the league to have beaten each of the top three teams record wise in the WNBA (Las Vegas Aves, New York Liberty, Connecticut Sun).
Sabally tied her career high with 28 points with two made free throws in the final 30 seconds of action this evening. In her 11th game scoring 20 or more points this season, she made nine baskets from the charity stripe to shoot a perfect 100% on her free throws for the 16th time this season. Sabally additionally led the team, with five steals, tying her career high.
Ogunbowale’s 23 points represent her 15th 20+ point game which ties her for the fourth most in the league alongside Minnesota’s Naphessa Collier. Ogunbowale shot 9-10 from the free throw line and pulled down six rebounds, tying her season high.
Crystal Dangerfield shot 50% from the floor alongside Sabally, totaling 16 points, her most since her season high of 18 against Los Angeles on June 25. While on the floor for Dallas, Teaira McCowan made her mark, recording a season high six assists alongside eight points and seven rebounds.
Dallas Wings Notes:
- Each starter recorded at least three assists, including Teaira McCowan who dished out a season high of six.
- Dallas Outscored Connecticut 14-8 in second chance points.
- After shooting 64.7% in the first quarter, the Wings held the Sun to just 36.4% in the second, while shooting 56.2% themselves.
