icepicks for may

adakain

going for the home team here and giving a shout out to adakain. current lineup going back to 2012 when singer Ryan Ray took over to join drummer Ryan Caroll, last remaining original member of the band and pulling in others from the local scene in corey goodwin on guitar and anthony morel on bass. the sound is driving, combining sheer sound with melodic tendencies at times to bring something just a little different to the scene. check out the video for hey girl and check out the bands site at adakain.com. and lets face it – any band that can open up for apocalyptica has something going on worth checking out. starset

when i think of columbus ohio, i have to think of my great friend joey c jones, but let’s face it – that city has produced a lot of talent i simply won’t go into at this point because i’m here to tell you about starset. then again let me just give you their mission statement from their website:

We have been commissioned by The Starset Society to spread broad awareness of The Message through music and media. The Message contains the knowledge necessary to spare the future of humanity, and we will do whatever we must to inform the public. Please hold. STARSET will begin the TRANSMISSION of the Message to the public shortly

young guns

i’ve fallen in love with a song. hey, it’s music, it happens. this brittish alternative rock band shot out their first ep in 2009 and followed up with a full album in 2010. this is from their latest ones and zeros and while this is where i found the band, you’ll see me going back to itunes to check out the previous releases. great mix guys and love the sound.

just gonna focus on these 3 this week but ya gotta admit, a great 3 for this months edition of icepicks. keep the music coming guys and rest assured, we’ll keep on playing it!
