The inaugural Lone Star Smokeout, held from May 2–4, 2025, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, delivered an unforgettable weekend of world-class barbecue and top-tier country music. Drawing inspiration from Chicago’s Windy City Smokeout, this festival brought together an impressive lineup of artists and pitmasters, creating a vibrant celebration of Texas culture.
The festival’s musical lineup was a standout feature, with headliners Jon Pardi, Cody Jinks, and Midland delivering electrifying performances. Supporting acts like Randy Rogers Band, Eli Young Band, and DJ Pauly D added variety and energy to the event. The diverse mix of established stars and emerging talents ensured that attendees experienced a dynamic range of country music throughout the weekend.
Food enthusiasts were treated to a culinary journey featuring 14 renowned pitmasters from Texas and beyond. Notable participants included Esaul Ramos of 2M Smokehouse, Barrett Black of Black’s BBQ, and Miriam Wilson of Salt Lick BBQ, who came out of retirement for this event. The festival showcased a variety of barbecue styles, from traditional Texas brisket to innovative dishes like Panther City BBQ’s Flaca Tacos, offering something for every palate.
The Lone Star Smokeout successfully blended the rich traditions of Texas barbecue with the energy of country music, creating a memorable festival experience. Its debut at AT&T Stadium set a high standard for future events, and it has undoubtedly secured its place as a must-attend celebration of Texas culture.
