    I support privatization of marriage.
Reaganomics had four simple principles: lower marginal tax rates, less regulation, restrained government spending, noninflationary monetary policy. Though Reagan did not achieve all of his goals, he made good progress. -- Milton Friedman

    only, we're still not adults.

    marry who you want.
live your live as you want.

    i support that.

i don't support a singular view trying to pretend their lot in life is worse than normal.
It's not about that, its not about equality or neutral ground. It never is. You say 'still' as though it will come to pass, because you're probably being the optimist. This country was once run by and peopled by adults and kid's had their place. A very long conditioning has pretty much put that ideology down and this country is run by and peopled with physically matured people with child-like mentalities. To think 'we'll get there' is missing some major facts. Can anyone with a straight face really say this generation would fare well in the Revolutionary war? World War II? Of course not, they'd be to busy arguing against conspiracy theories on their fucking typewriters to unite and be one. It's called devolution and I don't see anyone talking enough truth about this for it to be rectified any time soon.

What we're witnessing is the end result of a lot of character/societal/moral flaws. It's as natural as life and death and as calculable as time. It's why history is always the first victim in an internal assault.

This brings up another point: he didn't "come out against" gay marriage. He came out for traditional marriage with a quick follow-up that he's been married to the same (one) woman his whole married life. So if "coming out for traditional marriage" was "loading his gun", he quickly pulled the trigger on "starter marriages" and whatnot, not gay marriage. It's the whole "beam in thine own eye" thing. I certainly don't think heteros, even many Christians, have done a good job actually living that which they support. Perhaps gays just want in on the running joke (and tax filing status and other government goodies) that marriage has become in our society (generally speaking, of course). The one thing I can't stand though, is what VTA referred to as "child-like mentalities": if I come out in support of something, then I HATE ... HATE! *HAAAAATE!* the poor, quivering, oppressed peoples who are not that thing. I love Mustangs. Why do I hate Camaros so? It's as if you are not allowed to take a stand in support of anything without being a hating hater who hates. Case in point: You want smaller government and fiscal responsibility? Well, you hate the homeless and those less "fortunate" than you. Want a true free market rather than a centrally-planned financial system and regulatory regime masquerading as "free market"? Well, you hate the average Joe and mom & pop because you (somehow) therefore love big, politically-plugged-in corporatism (how that figures I'll never know, since you'd want to unplug the umbilical cord, but that's what they insist must be true).

    -Ayn Rand
