You Texas guys need to fill me in. Is Cruz the real deal or just another guy just looking to get rich off the American people?
When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it. --Frederic Bastiat

We'll have to let you know ... what we do know is he's not David Doo-Hurst :)

DD is a typical, back-room back-patting Captain Establishmenty Guy. He claims to be conservative, but tried to push through a state-wide property tax (we already have local, so this would be on top of that), plus a state income tax (!) ... pure heresy in TX. But of course he said that wasn't true ... it's not an "income tax", it was to be a "wage tax". The meaning of "is" all over again. Apparently he's also the one who killed the "anti-groping" bill to direct Texas law enforcement agencies to arrest any TSA agent engaging in such things as assault/battery and indecent touching (part of their job). Running their hands inside your pants and grabbing junk is, after all, a crime in most if not all states. When the feds threatened to essentially blockade Texas, DD shoved the bill in a rat hole, never to see the light of day again.

TC argued pretty big cases on behalf of TX, such as the UN suing the state over the death penalty ... and won. But he's never held elective (much less legislative) office, so it still does remain to be seen. He basically ran on the platform of "all the things DD *claims* he stands for? I actually stand for them. All the things DD *claims* he'll do? I'll actually do 'em. All the things DD *claims* he won't do? I actually won't do 'em". Plus, put another kettle of tea on the stove ... Ted started with 2% in a poll that had a 3% margin of error.... :0)

Hard to say at this point... he certainly has political ties, but he is a bonifide bad-ass for his tenacious nature as Solicitor General here in Texas... he is NOT to be messed with in that respect...

If he can go to Washington for the people, he will be a major force... let's hope that is the case...

Dewhurst is a dyed in the wool establishment douchebag. The sooner he is out of office, the better... Perry, too...

People misunderstand Texas... this is not a Republican stronghold. This is a state full of mushy pseudo Yellowdog Dems...

Our leadership is largely Conservative Democrats turned Republicans that have no clue...

Dewhurst going down was MAJOR... I hope Perry is next...
There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences.

    He's a Tea Party product.
    He's part of a statement.
The Chick-Fil-A thing was a statement.
