it's a story i've been kicking around in my head for awhile now about a fallen angel who regrets his actions and goes off alone.

angels don't like it when they do that so he's pretty much both banned from heaven and on the run.

Nice. I don't know how familiar you are with the Bible, but your research of Satan himself should start in Isaiah 14:12-22 and Ezekiel 28:13-15 for an ini depth description.

how about you two tell me more about it? satan, the original argument, Gods love for man, why they rebelled, things like that and let's talk about it to give me more ideas as i rewrite it.

Lucifer wanted to be worshipped as God. He was called perfect by God and was set in a high place as the anointed Cherub and apparently it went to his head. He and a third of the angels rebelled: Rev 12:5 …his tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth…

The Isaiah verse states gives a description of his sin:
In the middle of the prophecy concerning Babylon, it expands on what is behind Babylon, i.e. the spirit of Satan, formerly Lucifer. Lucifer means Son Of The Morning Star.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning ! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble , that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain , thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcass trodden under feet .

Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned. Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise , nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities . For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

In Ezekiel the prophecy against Tyrus, showing the spirit behind the acts of the king of Tyrus, letting his place go to his head and expounding on who Lucifer was:

Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created . Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth ; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created , till iniquity was found in thee.

Revelation 12 is a vision of Israel and the birth of Messiah, and the Devils attempt to thwart it. If you read Job, you see Satan still can come before God and does. In Revelation Chapter 12, he loses that privilege after Michael boots him out. After Jesus was swept up into Heaven, the devil turned his wrath upon Israel, who 'escapes into the wilderness' and when that doesn't work he turns to 'make war with the remnant of her seed', the remaining Jews and Christians.
