Because throughout most of our postwar era, the way we grew America was understanding that the market was the most powerful wealth generator in history; that we had a entrepreneurial culture, and we rewarded risk-takers and innovators...
and now we punish them. We engage in class warfare on a daily basis. We force the few that are already paying for everything to pay even more. Which party wants to punish those those that create the jobs? You and your despicable party. Your greed makes me sick. Your envy of those that have had success is sad but predictable. It's how you have been programed.

When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it. --Frederic Bastiat

That is just plain old stupid. Of course we built the infrastructure for the businesses. Obama and his worshipers have lost their minds. Good grief...Who do you thinks pays for all this stuff. And you say I have a disconnect?

    Thanks.

Disingenuously enough, he's conflating services with personal and private business, which are two different animals really.
You'll notice he does't at all mention those personal/private business that expanded without government intervention, like grocery and hardware stores that started small and went national. Privately owned airlines, etc.

Services are a product and return on tax dollars, not a benediction by a generous entity known as gub'ment.

    You:
in all fairness that isn't what obama said when he said if we succeed, we didn't do it alone.

and today they tax the risk takers so again, talking out both sides of his mouth.

Horribly enough, what he's stating - in somewhat gentle terms - is: you've benefitted from this country's general nature, now it's time to pay up. By allowing this brand new version of government to stick it's hand in the pot even further. Taxation, lobbying and all sorts of bribery isn't enough, now government has to take control.

No matter how nuanced people want to make the argument to soften the blow, the fact is clearly the fact: an attempt (and so far successful) to dramatically change the groundwork of our nations governance to overcome the limits of it's power.

He/they know they're talking out of their asses with this stuff, but they also know they have built in support, because sheep will defy logic to maintain their popularly held views. This is a product of long term conditioning.

and that is exactly the "difference" i was trying to get from edwardo. i paid my taxes to live in a country that by means allows us to provide for ourselves.

now we didn't do it without the government so we need to pay?

    again?

good god obama, make your dems pay taxes and we'll fix this right up.

All it takes is a reasonable sounding argument and it's on it's way to becoming a generally accepted concept.
This country's freedom was already paid for, we don't need another invoice presented to us.

That said, it is our fault, because it was our job to maintain and prosperity got the better of us and the people trying to undermine the foundations of this country simply worked harder and was more determined.
