What do you find to get you through
All these things that hold us back
A whisper in kind
A stray piece of mind
What do you find
Maybe somehow I got lost along the way
So many things that I just didn’t know
ignorance in kind
a stray piece of mind
What do you find
Another time another place
Everything put so far away but held so close
Another lost cause this time
Everything put so far away and
a thousand dreams i knew so well
a million stories that i could tell
but i'm still lost
can't you see i'm still lost
day to day we all get by
never even understanding why
why we're still lost
can't you see that i'm still lost
i stand i fight i'll never run
i know i'll win in the end
but how long until i get to me
a thousand memories i hold so close
a million dreams that i could tell
i'l still dreaming

Miami Marriage
By Jerry Hayes
He was sitting at the edge of the pond chewing on a blade of grass. The picture itself seemed like one Norman Rockwell would proudly paint on a magazine cover. A country boy with nothing on his mind except 'would the fish bite?' The picture would be a bit wrong, however. This young man was just two days away from being married.
He kept smiling, remembering the days in the schoolyard when he
i heard a rumor
but i wasn't listening for a thing
it just came to me
pieces are so hard to put together
i breathed a sigh
but i was't hoping for a thing
trying to survive
flashes in my mind so hard to understand
night after night day after day
i swear i was dreaming of a better way
day after day
i took a breathe
i was praying for so much more
trying to live
living is so much harder than dying
What would I say
