Cowboys, Goodell Mum On Cap Issue

PALM BEACH, Fla. - On the first official day of spring meetings, the NFL confirmed what has been rumbling since team owners and officials began arriving at The Breakers private resort on Sunday: The Cowboys, along with their NFC East rival Redskins, have filed grievances regarding the league's agreement with the NFL Players Association to dock them $46 million in salary cap space over the next two seasons, specifically $10 million from the Cowboys.
That's as much as you'll hear publicly about the issue for the foreseeable future. It's now a matter of actions, not words.
The league, along with both teams, will not comment further on the upcoming arbitration proceeding. Professor Stephen Burbank of the University of Pennsylvania will hear the grievance, though no date has been scheduled yet.
