Who Wants to be KING???

:)we left the last round of vikings with this cry from ragnar who was both getting through having his brother whip his *** and detoxing from his drug induced loss in paris. to be fair, it was rolos time but ragnar was not ragnar and everyone knew it.enter the new season. i think my only complaint is the "overmakeup" on floki and ragnar that made them look like they were wearing too much makeup, not gotten older. there, that's said.from here i'll talk about the show so if you've not seen it yet, stop if you want. last warning. you'd think my biggest fantasy would come true where lagertha finally ......

the walking dead - season whatever

one of the things i pondered so carefully when we left last season in the cliffhanger we did was just how many "real life" people would die before they ever knew who negan killed. i had it all figured out. x amount of populationx amount of is a % of fans of the showx amount of people die yearlyx amount of fans that would likely die... you get the picture. but the number i came up with was pretty impressive. the "cliffhanger" resolution maybe wasn't exactly what they were looking for as i can see now that it really did 2 things. alienated many fans who thought it was *too* violentset a tone it ......

why i watch movies, sports and entertaining things

the real world can suck at times. these days for sure. the world seems hellbent on destroying itself and at times, it's hard to find fault in that idea. this last election took a huge toll on us all as a society and culture and regardless of who won, a good 1/2 the people who are emotionally tied to the results, lost. that's a lot of losing to get over. not happening very gracefully either. now i could google some of my own examples of the world gone mad but we all have our own examples. rioting since the left lost the election and showing them obama bumper stickers of "we won, get over it" do......

icepicks - november; saint asonia

ok - in before the 15th so i'm ahead of the game! sorry about missing my show last thursday but the flu was busy taking my ass out. i've coughed up a lot more than i've eaten so i do believe im on the road to recovery and today i actually have the energy to make gross analogies in my opening statements again. I STILL GOT IT!!! now - enough of me. while listening to our own stream i sometimes find bands all over again. while wondering who to tell you about this month i came across saint asonia and fell in love with the lyrics instantly. "Now I'm leaving MinnesotaWould have been nice to hav......

the walking dead - season 7 premiere

the walking dead - season 7 premiere
spoiler alert. numb. that's the best i can put it. relief it wasn't glen but sad it was abraham as he was always the "backbone" of things at times. he got the last word in, sorta. i consoled myself quite a bit that i was *dead wrong* in this and it wasn't glen. this got me through the repeated hits and crunching noises.but i'm already ahead of myself. i should have known that TWD simply can't just say what happened. not after an 8 month layoff in which 10s of thousands of people died between cliffhanger and reveal (that alone has to be a record - how many real life people died not knowing who ......

icepicks october - love and a .38

Rock and Roll. I can try to make this a fancy review. I can even try to get "cute" with clever phrases and words found in a lot of reviews. But i'm going to take a cue from Love and a .38 and just come out and say it. Rock and Fucking Roll. There isn't much complex about this band and that would certainly seem intentional and to me making me grateful. You see, they don't get cute, they don't try and "show off" they just bring it, this rock and roll. Don't believe me? Now, do I lie??? Simply put, I love it. Ryan Hudson has a no nonsense attitude and the presence that just commands attenti......

icepicks for september - stone and moxie and the influence

first up - STONE formed in 2010, this band out of philadelphia is certainly one to keep an eye on. Somewhere along the line a song has a way of getting personal. New song, new band, but out of the blue it’s 1970-something and it just got real. When listening to STONEs song “you made a promise” it just felt like a brand new yesterday. A touch raw, very emotional, you know. Personal. Certainly looking forward to more from these guys and guys, if you have a facebook page let me know! not found one anywhere but that's ok - you can check them out here - STONE.   Vocals, Guitar / Johnny Ju......

Aaron Lee & The Gambling Souls

Aaron Lee & The Gambling Souls

I still remember seeing Aaron Lee for the first time in curtain club in his band paperface and in that brief introduction what stuck out the most was the passion he puts into the music in how he tells the story. The vocals pulled you in, the story kept you around, and the good times you’ll remember in that special place we hold where all good music goes to be remembered over the years. Fortunately there are times moments carry on into days and those days carry on into years and you continue to hear such a person continue to create music and while new, it’s still just as good as the first time ......
