A Newsreel?!?!?!

So uh, yeah, remember those blogs we used to call Renegade Newsreels?  Well, Jemini is finally back from the middle of nowhere so there is no need to send out a search party.  This means that Renegade newsreels will slowly be gracing the main page once again with fun and exciting Renegade news.  *and there was much rejoicing* If you would like to be a part of the Renegade clan, see iceberg's newsreel on how to become a Renegade (http://renegaderadio.net/index.php/social/easyblog/entry/becomearenegade-let-s-hook-up) with one of those crazy pound signs/hash tags (whatever the hell...

let's go ahead and get the local out of the way real quick in that yes, i'm coming back to dallas for back to back picks. dark avenue has been in the dallas scene for quite some time, and yes, still alive and well musically as well as on the stage. i've caught these guys at curtain club cd release parties, austin sxsw and most recently at gas monkey bar and grill and each and every time the power is there and the good times roll. and fresh off the press- dark avenue - maybe tomorrow.   i ran into heaven below years ago while surfing and found their hit "when daylight dies" and have spoken...

tomorrows classics, today - this generation is screwed

tomorrows classics, today - this generation is screwed
classic rock, if you're old enough, is late 60s, early 70s.  led zepplin. rolling stones. the guess who and american woman. who can miss the intro of that song? we even went through a disco phase and rock held on tight. face it - ever see a "classic disco" station? please. even the late 70s and into the 80s rock just went, for lack of a better word, corporate. CORP ROCK SUCKS!!! but looking back it all was but that rock is considered "classic" today. van halen, night ranger, bon jovi, ac/dc, KISS and many more who while some may have roots in the 70s to be sure, their "rock" bled into the...

last night in my dreams

I know it’s coming anticipation taking over in the end where will I take myself tonight Barely a memory usually gone when the morning comes I wonder where I went last night Night after night it’s the same old thing living alone inside of dreams I can’t recall was it anything at all Day after day it’s got me thinking again what it was and what I said and did I make it through just what did I do Last night in my dreams I’ve been here before anticipation to expectation it seems I wish I could remember last night Broken puzzle with only pieces to remain never coming together for me vivid memories ...

newsreel for may - jemini MIA

do not call 911 hell, don't even bother with 411. we know she's alive, she checks in with a few cool turd pics from her field work. maybe after all these years i should be asking her what type of field work she does, but she seems to enjoy it, i can try to make the turds look like famous faces, and making this stuff up while she's out there "in the field" is kinda fun because by the time she gives me grief for doing it i'd have forgotten i did.  :) LOVE YA JEMJEM!!! more behind the scenes work going on. our new writer jessica was off in vegas not long ago and i need to get her used to blo...

adakain going for the home team here and giving a shout out to adakain. current lineup going back to 2012 when singer Ryan Ray took over to join drummer Ryan Caroll, last remaining original member of the band and pulling in others from the local scene in corey goodwin on guitar and anthony morel on bass. the sound is driving, combining sheer sound with melodic tendencies at times to bring something just a little different to the scene. check out the video for hey girl and check out the bands site at adakain.com . and lets face it - any band that can open up for apocalyptica has something going...

Sebastian Bach at Trees/Dallas

Sebastian Bach at Trees/Dallas
Sebastian Bach at Trees in Dallas, TX on May 7 was sold out and absolutely phenomenal. But first I would like to talk about the band he is touring with, Santa Cruz. Originally from Finland, their sound rings very much of the Skid Row grit and heavier side of 80s heavy metal. They appeared on the show Breaking Band with Sebastian as their mentor. Saturday night was the last stop of their first tour in Texas. They were great. They have an energizing stage presence and lead singer, Archie Cruz, has a dynamic voice. It is evident they learned a lot from Sebastian and are a perfect match as his sup...
