The Twisted One Returns

The Twisted One Returns
I've been working with RenegadeRadio.net now for a bit over 9 years now, in one form or another. I Originally started out Wednesday afternoons back in the summer of 2007, as I was working a 3rd shift job and that seemed like primetime for me.. "Grave Disorder" it was called. Had a decent run, but then had to step away for personal reasons (Because, Life happens.) Came back and started again 12-25-2009. Decided to take over Friday nights. Had another good run, Got to do some really kickass interviews (Including Dommin, Acey Slade, Ville Valo, Rudi Protrudi of The Fuzztones), and then once again...

Heaven Below - Good Morning Apocalypse

Heaven Below - Good Morning Apocalypse

Concept albums are far from new. Most fall short of any individual goal to tell a story more so than just put out an album loosely tied together with the "concept" of a story that doesn't really get told in the album. The most notable examples of these I can remember would include Styx with Mr Roboto and KISS with their hidden gem, The Elder. Now, the list of successful concept albums grows in ranks as  Heaven Below  releases "Good Morning, Apocalypse" and the story of Dr Faust’s (inspired by the German legend of Faust) dealings with the devil in his own struggle with life. I do...

falling in love with violet janine

falling in love with violet janine

One of the best things about music is it lets you fall. in this case with a new release from Swedish rockers Violet Janine  (ja-nine) you're going to fall in love. Lead singer Janine Nyman can certainly hold her own and her soulful edge comes through with emotions she's not even trying to hide. As you make your way though Between Red and Blue you are going to fall in love. time and time again. There are times I want to save the best songs for last but this release makes choosing such things a certain 1st world problem. But hey, the struggle here is real and in the end you're going to decl...

Lzzy and Lita and Dorothy, Oh My!

Lzzy and Lita and Dorothy, Oh My!
Yes, friends, it was girl’s night out last Thursday at Gas Monkey Live and it frickin rocked!  And I’m not referring to free drinks after 5pm for all the ladies at the bar (although that would have been a nice bonus).  Better yet, I am referring to the fact that last Thursday night was nothing but kick ass female fronted bands the entire evening.  Now that’s something to buy a girl a drink for!   Why? Because even in this day and age, you don’t see a line up like this very often, in particular the rock and metal genres.  Historically, women have taken a back seat to me...

a contest ends, let the music begin

a contest ends, let the music begin
recently we wrapped up our first promotion in conjunction with reverb nation  and in the end over 3500 bands submitted their music for us to consider. no, we've not gone through each and every one as much as i would like to say we have. first and foremost we're a rock station so pop, country, rap, blues and any other format not "close enough" were filtered out just to get us to our own core. even then we had a ton of music to go through, and we still are i promise. more offers went out just this am. all i can tell you is "holy shit". to say we were floored by the response is an under...

Aaron Lee & The Gambling Souls

Aaron Lee & The Gambling Souls

I still remember seeing Aaron Lee for the first time in curtain club in his band paperface and in that brief introduction what stuck out the most was the passion he puts into the music in how he tells the story. The vocals pulled you in, the story kept you around, and the good times you’ll remember in that special place we hold where all good music goes to be remembered over the years. Fortunately there are times moments carry on into days and those days carry on into years and you continue to hear such a person continue to create music and while new, it’s still just as good as the first time ...

Stylin and Profilin - An Evening with Joey C Jones

Stylin and Profilin - An Evening with Joey C Jones

“I was stylin’ and profilin’ in elementary school, and knew what I wanted to do with my life when I was six years old.” said Joey C Jones , kicking back with his feet propped up when asked how it all began. Not many can point to such an age with such conviction but when questioned on how soon Joey knew what would be in store for him, the answer was lightning quick as he finished the thought by adding that his love for the early 70s bubblegum music and the Beatles catalogue dictated what he wanted to do with his life. As the early years went by and Joey was busy developing an early love for ban...

Stryper - Gas Monkey Live

Stryper - Gas Monkey Live
Stryper: Fallen 2016 Tour - Gas Monkey Live 7/1/16 Jessica Kuyawa Stryper played at Gas Monkey Live Friday night as a stop on their Fallen tour. The concert was nearly sold out with over 1600 people in attendance. It got pretty warm inside as the night went on. But, the night was not without a few technical difficulties. First it started with Michael Sweet’s guitar not being loud enough. Instead of stopping and storming off stage, while Oz Fox was playing his solo, Michael went over to the amp and fixed the sound issue. No rants. No anger. Just went on playing the show. During the chorus to “G...
