"it's for the victims..." my ass

in response to the FBI caling out Apple and once again demanding NOT that they retrieve informarmation from a cell phone, but that they "backdoor" security just for them i can only say "hell to the no". i mean, really. it's for the victims? ( the story ) of course it is. i mean, our government is baffled by a phone and that in itself is worrisome. however, what is more troubling is the constant use of emotionalizing this to say it's about "the victims"   please.   "it's for the children!" used to be the battlecry. now, the victims.   look, i want to nail these bastards plans as ...

pop tart moment - archive feature

did you ever have a "deju vu" moment where you stop and think "did that just happen? I've had several "pop tart" moments since the original one and now I've just come to appreciate them for what they are; a coincidence of epic proportions that you can't plan because the random nature of them is what makes them so great.   let me back up and explain how first the term got coined and then the moments I've had since then I'd call a "pop tart" moment.   it was around 1990 and I was living in arlington, tx with a friend. I had just lost my job I moved to Dallas for and he was letting me c...

welcome to renegade radio, we hope you enjoy your stay

welcome to renegade radio, we hope you enjoy your stay
if you stay around and relevant long enough, even your own history page becomes outdated. that's what is happening to us here at renegade but this is good. damn good. it means we're picking up steam and out of the ashes of busted attempts by others, we're still growing. we'll face that hurdle ahead of how to pay our BMI fees soon enough, we hope. you see, the sooner we're paying those fees the sooner our own "relevance" takes it up another level. it's a problem that isn't going away and as we continuet to grow, we'll be facing it like other sites who've tried and looks like failed. speaking sp...

offline, holler at the iceberg - explained

here at renegade we've gone through more players than any man, woman or child should have to go through. we've been searching for the perfect one that fits and plays everywhere and for the love of midget sex to people with short attention spans, there just are not many out there. the one we have now is fantastic but not as easy to configure as i'd like. oh, it would be if i did it every day but face it, we don't change the stream provider very often. until now. basically what this message means is that our server hosting the stream isn't getting the data so no, you can't listen to the stream u...

excuse me, mr president. we are not safer today than yesterday

excuse me, mr president. we are not safer today than yesterday
over the years our president has come on tv time and again to tell you we are safe. the bad guys are not going to get us in our sleep. because of his efforts we've not had attacks in our country and he will continue to ensure we do not. this was stressed recently in his state of the union address. really?  does anyone really think the world is safer? i don't. while not the entire fault of obama, his actions to seem to divide more than heal. his policy, certainly not traditional in the terms of making people safer. how do these things just off the top of my mind make us safer? for gun cont...

millennials killed the radio star

millennials killed the radio star
the sad part is, most of them won't even get this reference. recently an older article came out where the writer was pumping his chest proclaiming that his generation killed the music industry. a lot of words came to mind but all them were after a healthy bout of laughter from the headline alone. after reading the first paragraph it was painfully obvious they were referring to the RIAA's business model that yes, is in fact 100% dead. but the millennials didn't have jack shit to do with that death. as soon as mp3's hit the public web it was game over. it was only a matter of time before file sh...

shit, 9 days into the year, changes already

and i gotta admit, i feel kinda "on the edge" when i can start my headline w/profanity.  :) changes so far are not major but they are in fact, changes. we dropped the old chatroom because as it was functional, we're after a little bit more than that in the coming months to this entire year. the most notable change to date is this chatroom bit. you see, we found chatwee that allows 3 social logins and we don't have to maintain a userbase OR make you create yet another online account. let's face it, the fun of that wore off 16,391 accounts ago, right? ALL HAIL SINGLE SIGN ON!!!! and there w...

gearing up for 2016 - yep. that's what we're doing

we've got some cool plans for 2016 and want to thank everyone, again, for sticking with us while we grow and continue to make listening to our music easier for you. we've got at least one person to add on board who is kinda family already, and we'll be revamping the Long Island scene soon so keep an eye out there. for our site, we'll have a new 24x7 cloud server by the start of the year, 1st week is our goal. how will you know? hopefully you won't tell other than the music has been updated.  :)  shows are dropping to 2 hours quite a bit as people are more focused on better music, not...
