one of our favorite features of our new server setup also seems to contain a bug. bugs, if you're familiar with software much at all, can range from kinda cool, to kinda annoying, to my god i'm going to nuke this and start over.
we're doing the nuke and start over approach.
how do you know of said bug? well quite simply the stream simply stops playing. it looks like it does. your browser/player clicks the time by as if something is happening, but nothing ever does. we first discovered the issue about 2 weeks ago but no idea how long it was going before that. likely not too long cause we'd hear about it pretty quick. the answer to this is to upgrade the OS from a 32bit to a 64bit platform so i'd guess it's resource related but i'm simply guessing.
opening a centova ticket we discovered the bug and were given the option of ending said feature (not gonna happen) waiting for liquidsoap to fix it (gonna be awhile) or moving to a 64 bit server.
we chose the nuke 'em and make sure approach.
currently in the process of said update, we hope this will be completely completed (my new phrase - get it into a convo of your own today!) by this weekend and you shouldn't miss a beat. this will require upgrades to the players also to point to the new server address, but it is what it is. (old phrase i hate but it fits here).
in the meantime we simply recycle the server and will keep things moving until migration is complete. we just wanted to give all a heads up that we are aware of the issue and it will be fixed soon.
